Harleywood key art: Harley, his mother Ina and the cast on a red sofa between two motorbikes

Harleywood

A slightly reenacted documentary series
8 × 25' · Docuseries · USA

A failed Hollywood deal pushes a self-obsessed criminal lawyer and an indie documentary filmmaker to turn their real-life story into a self-produced hybrid series, part reality, part reenactment, taking on the system that tried to make millions on their back and silence them.

Harley is a flamboyant New Jersey lawyer obsessed with documenting his life. Jean-Cosme is the filmmaker who turned that life into Harley, which premiered at Tribeca in 2020. Two Hollywood agents sold their story to a major network for a scripted series with a famous actor attached, and pushed both of them aside.

Instead of selling out, they made their own reality show: a wild, funny and deeply human look at justice, self-worth, friendship, mental health and the Hollywood machine. With MMA legend Renzo Gracie, and a bare-knuckle fight in Brazil.

Mala Rodríguez in black and white
´Mala´

´Mala´ · Full of Grace

María Rodríguez, known internationally as La Mala Rodríguez, is a Latin Grammy-winning pioneer and one of the most influential voices in Spanish-language hip hop. In this choral documentary, her story intertwines with that of four young women who are also named María and who, like her, were labelled “mala”, bad, by society: a graffiti artist, a rapper, a young migrant and a struggling screenwriter.

Together, their stories explore the price a woman has to pay to become herself.
